Thomas A. Gordon, D.D.S., F.A.G.D

General Dentistry

Dr. Tom Gordon received his fellowship from the Academy of General Dentistry in 2007. He graduated from University of the Pacific School of Dentistry, San Francisco, in 1973. He completed a mini-residency in esthetic dentistry at UCLA and an advanced fixed prosthodontics and occlusion course at the Esthetic Professionals Dental Education Center. He is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association and Kern County Dental Society as well as the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Gordon and his wife, Diana, have three daughters and enjoy skiing, cycling and scuba diving.

Joshua Divelbiss, D.D.S.

General Dentistry

After attending Centennial High School in Bakersfield, Dr. Divelbiss went on to graduate from Brigham Young University and from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry in 2008. He graduated at the top of his class, earning the Fixed Prosthodontics Award for advanced achievement in veneer, crown and bridge. He is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association and Kern County Dental Society. He and his wife, Alyssa, have two children. Dr. Divelbiss is also bilingual in Spanish and English.

James E. Slaughter, D.D.S.

General Dentistry

After graduating from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1995, Dr. James Slaughter returned to Bakersfield to serve the dental needs in the community he loves.  Prior to attending dental school, Dr. Slaughter met and married his sweetheart, Lisa, while both were studying at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.  They have four children.  Dr. Slaughter is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association and Kern County Dental Society.  In order to keep himself current with the ever-changing advances in dentistry, Dr. Slaughter participates in numerous educational courses, including a mini-residency in dental implant treatment and extensive studies in bioesthetic dentistry.  Dr. Slaughter, an Eagle Scout himself, is an active leader in the Boy Scouts.  He enjoys cycling, kayaking, small-boat sailing, camping and time with his family.  Dr. Slaughter is bilingual in Englis and Spanish.

Richard A. Parrott, D.D.S.

General Dentistry

After attending Taft Union High School, Dr. Parrott graduated from Taft College, attended Fresno State College and graduated from the University of the Pacific Dental School in 1975. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association and the Kern County Dental Society. Dr. Parrott and his wife, Nancy, have four children and three grandchildren. He enjoys golf and has coached football at Centennial High School for the past 17 years.

Gregory E. Hanford, D.D.S.

General Dentistry

Dr. Gregory Hanford graduated from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, Loma Linda, California in 1982. He received the American Academy of Oral Pathology Award for outstanding achievement in the discipline of oral pathology, and was conferred membership in the honorary dental society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon. He is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association and the Kern County Dental Society. He is a native of Bakersfield and has been practicing in the community for over 25 years. He and his wife, Joan, have one daughter.

Bryce L. White, D.D.S.

General Dentistry

Dr. Bryce White graduated from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry in 1980 and has practiced in Mojave, CA since 1981.  He loves orthodontics and for the last 25 years has studied with dentists who excel in creating beautiful smiles with orthodontic treatment.  He is bilingual in French and English.  Dr. White and his wife have 3 children and 4 grandchildren.  He plays the viola and was a member of the Bakersfield Symphony.  His hobbies include computer programming, physics and math.

Randy L. Beemer, D.D.S.

Pediatric Dentistry

Dr. Beemer has specialized in treating children since 1992. A graduate of the USC School of Dentistry in 1983, he completed a pediatric dentistry specialty residency at the Oregon Health Sciences University, School of Dentistry in Portland, Oregon in 1992. He served as President of the Kern County Dental Society in 2004 and maintains memberships in Kern County, California and American Dental Associations, as well as the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Beemer and his wife have three children and enjoy cycling, traveling and quality time with their family.

Joel B. Henriod, D.D.S. M.H.S.

Periodontist

Dr. Joel B. Henriod graduated from UCLA School of Dentistry in 2006. He received his Periodontics specialty certificate and Master's in Health Science in 2009 from Medical University of South Carolina. He practices in Pasadena, CA. He focuses his practice on contemporary periodontics emphasizing regenerative therapy, minimally invasive tissue grafting, advanced dental radiology, and dental implants. Dr. Henriod presents dozens of CE courses each year to dentists and hygienists. He developed “Dental School in a Day”, an interactive training program for dental sales teams. Dr. Henriod belongs to various organizations: the American Academy of Periodontology, the ADA, the California Dental Association, the California Society of Periodontists, and the San Gabriel Valley Dental Society. Outside of dentistry Joel loves surfing, biking, skiing, fly-fishing, and little league sports with his family.

Samuel Young, D.M.D.

Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

Dr. Samuel Young is a graduate of Bakersfield High School, Occidental College and Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He received his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery certificate of training from the Naval Hospital Oakland California in 1989. Dr. Young has completed 30 years of distinguished service in the United States Navy Dental Corps. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and a Diplomate of the National Dental Board of Anesthesia. He is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology and the California Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Young and his wife Karla have 4 children. He enjoys teaching, traveling and playing Scrabble.
